...my summer blanket "...while I'm waiting..."

Many have asked me about my blanket below. The pattern and shades I used for the project you will find below! I allow Libbeth Dougherty to use my photo at her Raverly page. You can follow her project with the blanket here: www.ravelry.com/projects/Franacropan/geranium-triangle.

.....quote: "Normality is a paved road - It's comforable to walk, but no flowers grow on it!" - Vincent Van Gogh

With Van Gogh's vision and life in mind: Who ever you are and what your passion is in life remember "Great arts or projects are done with your heart, never with the money in your pocket" - Sus

Actually my summer blanket started out as another dream of a flowering and colorful blanket - where I wanted to put my facination for the beauty of Mother Nature into it:

...quote: "Roads are never straight away - there will always be crossing roads and temptation at the other site of the road" - Sus

The first dream was a squared blanket - with the pattern below! But the stiches were to tight and blanket would be very stiff and really uncomforable - like a flying blanket over you ;) ps. and this pattern I don't remember

The first dreams ended up in a bag with cotton yarn of difference shades and brands! As I haven't got any place to live while I were waiting, the bag and dream moved with me from place to place for 14 months:

Here my bag with the yarn - on our way to another residents for the Christmas in Denmark:

My waiting time in Denmark ended and I could pack my suitcases and go to my new home in USA. I realized that there were no room in the lugage for my yarn, and I ended up leaving it back.

....but the dreams ended and waiting time either!

Luckily my son is working in the Mexican Gulf and was able to bring the bag with him in his lugage - So along with new waiting time and a long cold winter I started a new dream :)

- a blanket started taking form thru my fingers, heart and dreams - but without any plans or "blocked" by stress - just in peace: My Blanket: ".....while I'm waiting.."

Oh yes, there were a little plan and it was not to use all the favorites coloring - and just crochet along untill all yarn were use up. When finish I asked my angels please to help me by putting the triangles together. Because of our cats and little house I only got hours to puzzle it together - and actually my angels and I puzzled it right away in one hour! - There were only few corretions afterwards  :)  240 triangles, whose I crochet together!

Below "the puzzle" - sorry for the very bad quality of the picture. The excuse is that our cats love to drag things around and hide them - one of the triangles have be lost since that day (lucky me - I got a little yarn to make one more):

Some of the petals are two or three colored - afterwards I got over 2000 tails to fasten.

The pattern is from "75 Floral Blocks to Crochet" by Betty Barnden - this triangle is called: "Geranium" but I were think "French Anemones" while I were croching triangles.

The yarn got following shades: yellow (warm yellow with orange), neon yellow, light and dark purple, dark red, bordeaux, warm orange, light blue, black, light brown, beige, white, black, different shade of pink and rosa, light rosa, light and dark green.

Brands from Denmark: Brugsens yarn, Grønhøj Garnlager (very difficult to crochet with), Hjertegarn and left overs from friends yarn projects :)

- Enjoy your creative journey on the flowering road and dreams - and from Sus like always with love to Mother Earth and Universe....
