Fibers and quality

Good quality is very important for me and has always been.  I love things around me to stay for long.

I'm asking for the same good quality in my own work and the material I'm using.
For my hats I have chosen yarn from Brown Sheep, Nebraska, and it's 100% grown and produced in U.S.A. Handmade by me in Clarion, Iowa, U.S.A.

The yarn is made of 85% wool and 15% Mohair. Mohair wool is coming from the Mohair goat. Mohair is glossy, hard wearing, non-pilling and rejects soil. Wool is the best known product for heat regulation even when it gets wet. In old days the fishermen in the North Atlantic used sweaters made of wool as working clothes at the sea. Wool together with mohair makes the fabric strong, keeps the form, and you warm.

You will never find any synthetic material in my products - due to the fact that material from the nature is so much nicer to wear, warmer and is holding the quality/form longer.

- and this is a salute to Mother Nature from me and my work
